How long should grief last?

There are a lot of cultures that are more true to the way we understand grief. Grief doesn't ever end. So much of the words that we use around grief puts an onus of shame and responsibility on the griever to move on. You experienced an enormous loss. You may never move on. But does it feel better for you? Does it feel okay? Do you feel less sad?

Grief is not to be solved; grief is to be felt and experienced. It's a part of life, and the avoidance of loss and grief can cause a lot of suffering.
