My abandonment issues seem to be the root of a lot of problems in my relationship. What are some ways I can heal?

Abandonment and rejection are painful experiences that can linger and affect your relationships with those who have never abandoned or rejected you. Oftentimes abandonment signifies a loss in your life, which can trigger a sense of grief and longing. To heal, allow yourself to feel your emotions and take the time and space you need to understand your grief and longing while also practicing self-compassion.

If you feel secure enough to share and discuss your experiences of abandonment and its impact with your partner, allow them to hear about it. Healing doesn’t have to happen in silo, and a supportive and loving partner can be a significant force of healing and transformation in your journey!
