School mental health advocacy and youth leadership training
The future of school mental health starts with you
For current and recent high school students living in NJ, MD, PA, DE, or VA with an interest in mental health advocacy.
We are in the middle of a youth mental health crisis. Even though young people spend most of their time in schools, they are met with little to no school mental health resources. Things like mental health days, mental health education, counselors or peer support programs are in short supply in many schools across the U.S. On top of this, student’s ideas and leadership are often ignored, and only 1 in 4 young people think they can make a difference in their community. Students who want to do something often have no idea where to start or how to get started.
It’s time for change. You can take the lead.
In this free three-part virtual training, you will learn the advocacy skills to make a concrete difference in your school, meet leaders in your state and community, and make friends and build relationships with other young people passionate about mental health.
Space is limited – apply today and find your unique pathway into school mental health advocacy.
Day 1 / Saturday, October 15th
Day 2 / Saturday, November 19th

About Our Future in Mind
Our Future In Mind was established in 2021 as a virtual event to help people go from interest to impact in mental health. IDONTMIND and Mental Health America partnered with Youtube to develop a two-day summit that helped young people with an interest in mental health advocacy find their place and discover their voice. We’re taking the broader ideas that were developed during Our Future In Mind 2021 summit and helping young people grow their advocacy skills and make a concrete difference on the local level.
